Description

Cosmological stasis is a phenomenon in which multiple energy components with different equation-of-state parameters maintain constant abundances for an extended period despite the expansion of the universe. In this talk, I review how stasis arises and discuss the possible implications of this phenomenon in observations. These include the enhancement in the growth of matter density perturbations on small scales, and characteristic imprints in the stochastic gravitational-wave background.
