The Symposium on“Probing Rare Isotopes with Heavy-Ion Reactions: Advances, Challenges, and the Road Ahead”will be held in Huizhou, China, from October 16 to 20, 2026. The Symposium is co-organized by the Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMP-CAS) and Sun Yat-sen University, and hosted by the Southern Center for Nuclear-Science Theory (SCNT). The relevant details are as follows.
Theme:
With the commissioning of the High Intensity Heavy-ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF), a major national science and technology infrastructure, China has entered a new stage in nuclear reaction research based on fragment separators. The symposium will invite experts in related fields from both China and abroad for academic exchange. Recent advances in reaction/charge-changing/knockout/charge-exchange cross-section measurements and relevant studies will be reviewed. Major challenges/problems will be identified. Future collaboration based on HIAF will be discussed.

Fees:
No registration fee will be charged. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation expenses during the symposium. Meals will be arranged by the organizers.
