Pudong International Airport to Tongji University
Tongji University is located about 42 km from Pudong International Airport and the subway is NOT quite convenient (it takes about two hours and a half). Therefore, you're strongly recommended to take a taxi right outside the airport terminals. You can find the taxi stand by following the signs at the airport. The normal taxi driver will not solicit business in person at the airport arrival terminal hall.
It takes about 40min from the airport to Tongji University. The fare is about 150 CNY.

Hongqiao International Airport to Tongji University

You can find the taxi stand by following the signs at the airport. The normal taxi driver will not solicit business in person at the airport arrival terminal hall.
It takes about 35min from the airport to Tongji University. The distance is about 28km and the fare is about 90 CNY.

You can take subway at the airport by following the signs. The Metro Line 10 goes directly to Tongji University. You need to take the subway for 20 stops (if you arrive at Terminal 2) or 19 stops (if you arrive at Terminal 1) to get to Tongji University and it will take you approximately an hour.
Hongqiao Railway Station to Tongji University
(1) By taxi
You can hail a taxi at both the northern and southern taxi stands, but it is more convenient to do so at the Northern taxi stand. It takes about 40min from the Shanghai Railway Station to Tongji University. The distance is about 25km and the fare is about 90 CNY.

Shanghai Railway Station to Tongji University

You can take a taxi outside the railway station. It will take you approximately 20min to get to Tongji University and the fare is about 30 CNY.

You can take Metro Line 4 at the Shanghai Railway Station to Hailun Road (2 stops), from which transfers to Line 10. Please notice that you need to choose Baoshan Road direction (the Inner loop) and change the line inside the station. Then you can take additional 3 stops to get to Tongji University along Line 10. It will take you approximately half an hour in total.
