Workshop on Dense Nuclear Matter from Chiral Effective Theories 2025

The properties of dense nuclear matter which are essentially associated with the nonperturbative characters of strong interaction have been investigated for several decades. However, there are still many ambiguities and no consensuses have been arrived at. In the past decade, plenty of data from terrestrial experiments and astrophysical observations have been collected. In the upcoming decade, more and higher precision data are expected and more facilities will start to run. Therefore, it is reasonable to expect a breakthrough of dense nuclear matter in the future. We are planning to organize a “brainstorming” workshop with a limited number of experts in different aspects of the field addressing the crucial issues of nuclear matter at high density. It is hoped that this activity will shed light on fundamental theoretical physics issues such as the models of the equation of state, the mechanism of symmetry breaking in strong interaction matter, possible emergent symmetries, and the generation mechanism of hadron masses.
