DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Sebastian Bahamonde (Institute for Basic Science CTP
U-CGA)\nEinstein’s theory describes gravity through spacetime curvature\
, but more general gauge-theoretic frameworks allow spacetime to carry tor
sion and nonmetricity as well. I will first introduce metric-affine gravit
y as a framework in which curvature\, torsion\, and nonmetricity have dist
inct geometric roles\, and discuss the theoretical consequences of these s
tructures\, including their relation to hypermomentum and intrinsic proper
ties of matter such as spin\, dilation\, and shear. I will then turn to bl
ack holes in theories with torsion and/or nonmetricity\, including scalari
sed black holes and the gravitational spin-orbit effect. Finally\, I will
discuss cosmological models with non-Riemannian geometry\, focusing on FLR
W backgrounds and the propagation of an additional massive spin-2 mode ass
 ociated with torsion.\n\nhttps://indico.itp.ac.cn/event/419/contributions/
