School of Frontiers in Hydrodynamics, Effective Field Theory and Holographic Duality
Since the establishment of relativity and quantum mechanics in the early 20th century, modern physics has made significant progress in the fields of high-energy physics and low-energy condensed matter physics. However, computational methods based on the assumption of nearly independent particles and perturbation theory often fail to provide satisfactory answers to problems in strongly coupled systems. Some techniques developed to study strongly correlated systems involve a large number of microscopic degrees of freedom and typically require substantial computational resources. Establishing an effective framework for quantitatively describing the physical properties of strongly correlated systems has become an urgent issue in theoretical physics research.
One category of methods, involving fewer degrees of freedom and providing analytical solutions in some cases, such as fluid dynamics, effective field theory, and gravitational holographic duality, offers potential approaches to addressing strongly correlated problems. However, traditional fluid dynamics, fluid dynamics effective field theory, and holographic duality methods each have their own advantages and limitations. In current theoretical physics research, there is a growing tendency to integrate methods from different fields, corroborating with each other to explore the physical properties of systems from different perspectives.
To facilitate communication and collaboration across various fields, we are organizing this workshop, inviting relevant experts to impart knowledge, promoting the intersection of formal theoretical research and phenomenological research, and cultivating interdisciplinary researchers with a solid theoretical foundation.

流体力学、有效场论和全息引力理论物理前沿讲习班
自20世纪初相对论和量子力学确立以来,现代物理学在高能物理和低能凝聚态物理领域取得了显著进展。然而,基于近独立粒子假设和微扰论的计算方法在解决强耦合体系的问题上难以提供令人满意的答案。为研究强关联体系而发展出的一些技术手段涉及大量微观自由度,通常需要强大的计算资源。如何建立有效的框架来定量描述强关联体系的物理性质,成为理论物理研究的亟待解决问题。
一类涉及自由度较少,在一些情况下可得到解析结果的方法,如流体力学、有效场论和引力全息对偶为解决强关联问题提供了可能途径。然而,传统流体力学、流体力学有效场论和全息对偶方法各自存在优势和局限。在当前理论物理研究中,越来越倾向于结合不同领域的方法,相互印证,从不同角度深入探究体系的物理性质。
为促进各领域交流与合作,我们组织此次讲习班,邀请相关专家传授知识,推动形式理论研究和现象学研究相互交叉,培养具备扎实理论功底和多学科背景的复合型科研人员。本次暑期学校面向的是高年级研究生(必须修过量子场论与广义相对论)。同时,也诚挚邀请国内外专家学者与博士后参加此次暑校。此外,为进一步落实“东北六校校长论坛”会议精神,热烈欢迎并诚挚邀请东北六校的相关学员参会。
注:申请此次暑期学校的研究生请提交一份个人简历与一封导师签名的推荐信。
资助:一般情况下申请者须自己承担差旅费用。对于有特别困难的学生,有一定的资助名额可以申请。
本次暑校不收注册费,食宿自理。
