However, a direct implementation of the EFT paradigm yields non-unique results that sensitively depend on the momentum cutoff Λ. This is quite unsatisfactory as Λ is an artificial unobservable and must be excluded from any reliable prediction. In this talk I will discuss this issue in detail and show how to build an inherently renormalization-group-invariant (Λ-independent) EFT. Our method is a non- relativistic counterpart of the renowned Wilsonian renormalization group theory and can be applied to most general many-body EFTs. I will also present numerical demonstrations with realistic chiral EFT, then discuss the possibility of making truly model-independent predictions in nuclear ab initio calculations. 报告人简介: 吕炳楠,中国工程物理研究院研究生院研究员. Dr. Bing-Nan Lu is a researcher in the Graduate School of China Academy of Engineering Physics since 2020/09. Before that he was a post-doc researcher in Jülich Research Center (Germany) and Michigan State University (US). He obtained his PhD in 2012/07 at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interest is ab initio methods in nuclear physics, more generally, designing and implementing advanced algorithms for numerically solving the quantum many-body problems.
